Privacy Policy

Effective: May 17, 2026

This policy covers vinyliq.app (the web property). For the iOS app's privacy policy (the App Store reviewer's source of truth), see format.partners/vinyliq-privacy-policy.

1. Introduction

Format Partners LLC ("we", "us", "our") operates the VinylIQ website ("the Site"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit the Site. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

2. Information we collect

The Site collects minimal information by design. Specifically:

2.1 Analytics data. We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand aggregate site usage (page views, performance metrics). These tools do not use cookies and do not track users across other sites.

2.2 Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically receives standard request data: IP address, user agent, referring URL, and timestamps. This data is retained according to Vercel's policies and is not linked to any other personal information by us.

2.3 Voluntary contact. If you email us via the contact form or the address on our Contact page, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.

2.4 No account system. The Site does not have user accounts, login, or any persistent user identifier. We do not store or process passwords.

2.5 No advertising trackers. The Site does not use third-party advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or social media tracking pixels.

2.6 Cookies. The Site does not set tracking cookies. Functional cookies may be set by embedded third-party widgets if any are added in the future; at this time none are present.

3. How we use information

We use the limited information we collect to:

  • Operate and maintain the Site
  • Understand aggregate traffic patterns to improve content
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity
  • Respond to inquiries you initiate
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Sharing and third parties

We do not sell personal information. We share information only with:

Service providers that help us operate the Site (Vercel for hosting and analytics). These providers process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations.

Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government regulation, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of others.

Business transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred to the successor entity.

5. Data retention

Server logs are retained according to Vercel's retention policies (typically 30 days). Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify individuals. Emails you send us are retained as long as necessary to respond and maintain records, after which they are deleted.

6. Your rights

If you are in the EU/UK (GDPR): you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data; the right to data portability; and the right to object to processing. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to correct inaccuracies, and the right to opt out of any sale (which we do not do). We do not sell personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address below.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect information. All connections to the Site use HTTPS encryption. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Third-party services

The Site uses the following third-party services:

  • Vercel — hosting, analytics, performance monitoring. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • Apple App Store — links from the Site to the App Store are subject to Apple's own privacy practices.

9. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International data transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. By using the Site, you consent to such transfers. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective" date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
